8-steps to DVD bliss :

1. Uninstall any previous versions of PowreDVD (very important). 

2. Make sure DirectX 6.0 or 7.0 with the DXMedia Run Time 6.0 is installed on your system. You can download these files here :
http://www.microsoft.com/directx/

3. You should have downloaded these files :
pdvd25r-1.zip 
pdvd25r-2.zip
pdvd25r-3.zip

extract the contents of these zip packages to a temp directory, eg. c:\temp\

These files should have been extracted into this directory :

fileinfo.txt
instructions.txt (this file)
serial.txt
pdvd25r.exe
pdvd25r.r00
pdvd25r.r01

4. run pdvd25r.exe and extract these files into another temporary directory, eg. c:\temp\

5. run the setup.exe and when prompted for name, company and CDKEY, enter any value for name and company, but enter this CDKEY :
DV3X417M28947802

this CDKEY is also in a files called serial.txt 

6. You can now safely delete the temp directory used earlier.

7. Download the DVD Genie program to change the region settings of PowerDVD without incrementing the counter :
